Corenno Plinio is a small medieval village overlooking the eastern shore of Lake Como, in this painting he was portrayed with the background becoming one with the town, almost a monochrome where only some portions of some buildings are inserted, illuminated by a pale winter sun, and the surrounding vegetation, what derives from it is an evocative effect making the village appear suspended, as if frozen in time.
