Artwork description:

Linocut on paper
39 cm x 63 cm / 34 cm x 58 cm
Year: 2022
Charbonnel graphic paint
Canson Barbizone 250gsm

This linocut is an expression of my fascination with the subtle balance between sensuality and nature. In the center of the composition, I placed two nude female figures, created using the monoline technique. I wanted their silhouettes to be delicate yet distinct, so each line was thoughtfully and carefully drawn. The arrangement of these figures, reminiscent of the symmetry of playing cards, is meant to highlight the contrast and harmony that permeate my work.

I chose to cover their heads and loins with magnolia flowers because these flowers symbolize purity and delicacy to me. Through this element, I aimed to introduce a sense of mystery to the piece while creating a subtle dialogue between the human body and nature, which is an inseparable companion to our existence.

Working on this piece was a journey in which I combined the simplicity of lines with the depth of symbolism. This artwork is my personal reflection on the complexity of human nature, where sensuality and elegance meet in perfect balance. I hope this linocut will not only be an aesthetic experience for you but also an invitation to contemplate what is most human and natural within us.

Linocut prints are made by hand in my studio.
