Original artwork description:

I saw this clematis flower whilst out walking one day, it clung on via multiple tendrils to a fence, Not only was I inspired to capture the delicate beauty of its petals in a painting but I also wanted to juxtapose this with its underlying strength and determination. And so evolved an abstract and intricate background evoked by the twisting tendrils.
