The Quartet series continues my reflections on the relationship between music and visual art. This painting, like the others in this series, is an abstract parallel to the beauty and balance of a string quartet, worked as a watercolor collage on Arches paper, that was then mounted on canvas and over-painted in oils, all on a square format (of course!), with gold leaf accents. I was listening to Schubert when I painted this. The artwork has been given a satin varnish for protection. Hanging hardware is included.
