I'm continuing my reflections on the relationship between music and visual art. This artwork, and the others in this series, is an abstract parallel to the beauty and balance of a string quartet, worked as a watercolor collage on Arches paper that was then mounted on canvas and over-painted in oils, all on a square format (of course), with gold leaf accents. I was listening to a fugue by J.S. Bach while I painted this piece. This painting has been given a satin varnish for protection. Hanging hardware is included.
