I'm continuing my reflections on the relationship between the arts, specifically between music and visual art. This artwork, and the others in this series, is an abstract parallel to the beauty and balance of a string quartet, worked as a watercolor collage on Arches paper that was then mounted on canvas and over-painted in oils, all on a square format (of course), with gold leaf accents. I was listening to Mozart's "Adagio" Kv. 450 and to Pachelbel's "Canon" in D Major while I was painting. Satin varnish for protection. Hanging hardware included.
