This is a monotype painting/ print created on an acrylic sheet and pressed through a printing press. The image was pressed onto wet paper to create a watercolour style print and explores a style of printing, investigating various ways to create an image through a variety of printing techniques.
The scene is inspired from a view seen during a cycling trip into the Quantock Hills, looking out towards the west, taking in the hills in the far distance through the trees. It captures a day of cycling in the Quantocks, exploring the region and sketching to use in my printing/ painting practice.
The image is printed on Rosapina Fabriano and re-immersed into water adding a watercolour effect to the print, exploring the boundary between painting and printing.
Framed in an antique white mount frame with backing board and poly pocket for protection.
