Artwork description:

This work depicts the embankment on the south side of the river Thames, looking toward the city with Putney Bridge on the horizon, which is observed through shadows cast along the embankment by plane trees that run aside the River Thames, a sign that it is a lovely sunny day in London. The plate is made with a hard ground and then some aquatint to create the shading. The etching is printed in a dark sepia ink on off-white Somerset hand made cotton paper.
