Since I started my career as a ceramic artist in 1994 I have admired Japanese ceramic art, and my ink drawings are very much inspired by Japanese brush painting, too.
Eastern brush-painting with its dissolving lines and shapes fluctuate from strong statements to passing dreams hinting instinctively at emptiness - to me a respectful handling of the mystery and inadequacy of life.
Somebody who must rationally analyze a love-song has certainly not understood what it is about. Someone who must reasonable construe and interpret a poem has surely missed the essence behind it.
Like this my ink drawings are impulsive snapshots of the moment in which they were created. The different shapes have no further meaning or translation.
hand-made paper, Indian black ink
