Purbeck, Dorset
Pale light over the ridge,
Dusky pink, yellow ochre,
Slate blue and earthy grey clouds,
Calming walk,
Looking across from Bushy heath.

Words and feelings of a very special nature reserve in the Isle of Purbeck.
Original impressionist watercolour on extra rough textured watercolour paper bockingford 425gsm 200lb.
I used a three colour technique and diluted some yellow ochre for the first wash and then added a tiny amount of vermillion to make the dusky pink.
I applied with a Chinese brush and for the clouds I used my brush by dashing the paint on expressively. For the ridge I used my filbert brush for definition.
This scene was inspired by a quiet and invigorating walk in Winter time.
