Original artwork description:

I started this in 1987 after a disappointing general election when the campaigns of the major parties were disingenuous, patronising and simplistic. I abandoned the picture because I felt it also was too simplistic. Last year I discovered it amongst a pile of discarded card and paper and because of the electoral madness on both sides of the Atlantic it seemed an appropriate time to finish it off.
The image still seemed a bit too obvious but the announcement of yet another election and the poor quality of the campaigning gave me the impetous to complete it.
