Abstracted impressionist landscape.

It is autumn here in Kent, and I am working to the accompaniment of birdsong, and quite a lot of rain!
This tiny landscape painting is inspired by the richness of autumn yellows, browns, purples, rain and cooling temperatures. I love to be outside and my paintings reflect my experiences.
Building up many layers of colour, using top quality Golden paints and spattering, using brushes, rags and palette knives to create a rich and textured surface with tonal depth is my aim. My canvas is worked both on the ground and on an easel - this allows me to add layers of watercolor like painting without it all dripping to the bottom the canvas! When on the easel in the last stages, I am able to stand back and look, I spend more time looking than working at this stage and I try to asses balance, colour and overall feel.
This 30x30cm painting in unframed. It has white painted edges and is strung with picture cord ready to hang.
