Puddles unlike what we might think always reform after we fill them and they reform in the same places. That is because what underlies puddles is hard rock that keeps the surface waterlogged. Just like our own personal problems, puddles need to be fixed by digging deep and revisiting what is below the surface.
This puddle was on the Via Francigena in Lunigiana, an ancient Roman road that brought pilgrims from Calais to Rome. I see it as a metaphor for what to do when problems re arise; reflect and dig deep.
