Original artwork description:

After discovering the recently listed monochrome Marilyn pastel (the recently discovered study from 2012) I decided to look at doing a new piece as a challenge & break from my acrylic paintings.

Having watched the 1958 Hitchcock film 'Psycho' for the first time in well over a decade and having decided to do a monochrome drawing I thought that doing a modest sized illustration would be a suitable challenge. I wanted to do a composition that reflected the two main characters central to the film - although there is more to the film than the build up to the infamous 'shower scene'

Portraiture is what I do so selecting and working on the Janet Leigh and Anthony Perkins character portraits to fit together; I avoided just copying a scene from the film.

Offered as an illustration of movie fan art hand drawn using white pastel and charcoal on black paper, mounted, framed and ready to wall hang.
