This one is based on an amazing photo I took long ago of this woman and her dogs. A remarkable situation. And finally a painting has come of it.
Acrylic colour on handmade Thai mulberry paper (kada sa), deckled edge, 21.5 x 31.5 in., 54.5 x 80 cm.
My paper is a traditional handmade mulberry paper made in Thailand. The paper is a thick parchment type paper, strong yet pliable. I have the paper made to this size to get the deckled edges which adds to the textural effect. Each page is unique, some with visible flaws such as can be seen at the bottom corner near the signature.
The close up pictures are to get a better feel for the texture and brush strokes of the painting. Then there’s the work in progress, and me with the painting for a perspective shot.
