In general, I love glass in all its forms. I like the play of light in the transparent walls of jars and bottles. Even the most simple bottle becomes a work of art. Glass also goes well with any metal object. _x000D_ This dry pastel still life captures a simple yet evocative composition. _x000D_ A transparent glass bottle, its contours softened by thin pastel strokes, stands next to a spice jar with a textured surface. The jar is old, the edges rusty._x000D_ Nearby is a pestle, slightly worn from use, its rough surface contrasting with the smooth glass. _x000D_ The pastel technique allows for a rich interplay of light and shadow, enhancing the tactile quality of the objects and emphasising their forms. The muted palette complements the calm, casual nature of the scene, creating a harmonious balance between gloss and matte texture.
