This beach on Eriskay in the Outer Hebrides takes its name from Bonnie Prince Charlie - the shore here is said to be where Bonnie Prince Charlie first set foot on Scottish soil. It is also called Coilleag a'Phrionnsa, Gaelic for ‘the Prince’s cockleshell strand. A lovely story for a lovely view which has been painted in vibrant colours. The sea washing over the white sands becomes turquoise under the deep blue sky. It looks like the Caribbean but is very much Scotland. The composition has been continued on the edges to allow hanging without framing if so desired - see secondary images.
