Jan. 2020 (Unframed) Textured Abstract Acrylic Painting. Use of Gallery Wrapped Cotton Canvas 10 x 10 x 1.5. (Heavily Layered) I like building my canvases with layers of paint. There is a richness by doing this for this painting and many of the paintings I paint. I like using palette knives to blend the colors & patterns. I have been able to create several layers to show through in this small painting. I have several colors and 3 processes I have used to obtain the design/patterns in this Abstract Painting. I started with several primer layers and then I started to add White, Cream, Gold, Silver, and Copper to 2 more layers. After this I added another layer of Cream and brushed off areas to have a feeling of an old canvas feeling. By doing this you can see areas of Silver and Gold from the under layering. I centered on creating a framed painting with in the Cream blended boarders. I focused on using Copper in the framed area and creating a Primitive appearance with the patterns I designed. There is a lot of build up/texture I have created with the Copper. I added small Teal lines and 2 Teal boxes to highlight the Copper patterns with in the framed area. In the very center I have created a Gold box with a small Red line. I like adding a touch of Red as it is Good Luck in China and Japan. In China-Red is considered around happiness & prosperity. In Japan-Red denotes strength, passion, self sacrifice, and blood. I have added this 1 small touch of Red to denote the meaning of Red. There are small details in this painting that are hard to pick vie the photos that are posted. There are 2 Vertical hangings on the backside and 2 Horizontal hangings on the backside. Felt pads on 4 corners to protect the wall. Golden Professional Archival Gloss Varnish Spray has been applied to protect the painting. Certificate of Authenticity included 1/1.

Lighting will be important for this painting or any other painting to bring out the brilliance of the colors. Overhead lighting/Spot Lighting/and/Indirect Lighting from a window are the best forms of lighting. If you do not have the proper lighting-this painting or any painting can look dull. Also, be aware of Wall/Paint colors with paintings. Some darker wall colors can make a painting look dull or not interesting. So, be aware when you purchase a painting and the placing of the painting. Always play around with lighting and wall colors for paintings.

Note: I base my pricing on the genre of the painting, amount of Time creating the painting, Art Supplies used, Amount of paint used, and Artfinder's % which is important since they are promoting my artwork.

Materials used:

Professional Arcylics applied with Palette Knives. Painted on Gallery Wrapped Cotton Canvas. Coated with Golden Professional Gloss Varnish.
