When I painted this piece, I wanted to capture the essence of ballet—not just the technique, but also the emotions behind every movement of the ballerina. The light that pierces through the white of her classic attire symbolizes the purity and perfection that every dancer strives for. She stands on stage, frozen in a moment of tension, as if suspended just before the climax of her performance. The background, a mixture of black and purples, is a metaphor for the inner struggle she faces—against pain, pressure, and her own weaknesses. It’s a dark space that highlights her fragility, yet at the same time, her strength.

While working on this watercolor, I was inspired by *Swan Lake*. I wanted to convey not only the drama of Odette's story but also emphasize the symbolism of the ballerina herself as a woman whose life is a constant balance between grace and struggle. The delicate paper, which peeks through the paint in places, was left intentionally exposed to add a sense of lightness, as if this moment on stage was fleeting.
