The pleasure to find myself in my workshop all white, simple and bright where silence is beneficial to me.
It is a silence that is not empty.
I chose to talk about this presence to use very beautiful materials in their unique and simplistic appearance: 2 unique pieces of vegetable fibers worked like tapas, made by a woman in a laotian village, of a solidity to all tests, used in their raw state.
I needed a large format to give a real presence to this simplicity.
You can feel a sense of appeasement, it’s there, it feels good, it’s quiet.
Silence when you feel full is beneficial, a gift.
Depending on who’s looking at this painting, it might look empty or full.
