A nude figure in pensive thought which I have tried to encapsulate in this painting.
I apply the acrylic paint in successive washes to achieve a soft structure and then overpaint some areas with a more opaque use of the pigments. I use artists hogs hair brushes to apply and manipulate the paint with large 4" brushes to spread the washes. The work is painted on a Studland coloured art board as I like the rigidity and fine surface.
The work only needs framing to to make it ready to hang and should preferably be framed under glass with a mount. A suggested frame width of at least 60mm or more for this size painting. Narrow frames on large paintings have tendency to not sit well and have a habit of warping.
