Acrylic colour on handmade thai mulberry paper, deckled edge, 21.75 x 31.5 in., 55.5 x 79.5 cm.
Here I’m reworking an earlier idea, focusing on the people their action , and an abstract interpretation of the object of their contemplation. This is meant to be an abstract wash in gold paint. The brilliance of the metallic gold acrylic paint makes it a bit tricky for the camera to capture correctly.
The paper I use is a traditional mulberry paper handmade in Thailand. The paper is a thick parchment paper, strong yet pliable. I have the paper made to this size to get the deckled edges which adds to the textural effect.
The close up pictures are to get a feel for the texture and brush strokes of the painting. Then there’s me with the painting for perspective.
