A beautiful bull moose lit by the golden morning light stands in all its glory against a out of focus prairie skyline. Out on the Canadian prairies as the dark turns to light the sky awakens with a beautiful pink light. This scene reminds me of some early morning outings in the fall, cold crisp air and a gorgeous skyline, when the animals are stirring and warming up for the day ahead.
I always wanted to paint a bull moose, one of Canada's iconic animals. Being from Nova Scotia where it's boreal forest and then to see them on the prairies was so bizarre but I feel this painting really shows their majestic nature.
Materials used:
300lb Arches cold pressed wc paper mounted to a cradled art board sealed with Dorlands cold wax medium.
