Original artwork description:

I'm interested in exploring ways to present still life in unexpected ways and 'Pots and Pillows' does just that.

There is something very personal, intimate even, about our pillows. They nurture us through hours of sleep which is our most private of times and we spend a third of our lives in touch with them - literally! Our unconscious selves are an integral part of our being and carried within us as we go about daily life. The pillows in this painting represent that.

Paper collage is laid down onto an acrylic underpainting, and then overlaid with oil. There is a modest degree of texture from both paint and crinkled paper, which adds both depth and interest. The painting is left unvarnished as I think the soft matte finish enhances the nature of the work but it can be varnished if you prefer.

The sides are left white ready to hang but suitable for framing if preferred. The painting is initialed on the front and signed on the back.

**Please note that the home interior images do NOT show the painting to scale**

I ship internationally using an insured, tracked and signed for service. Please note that payment of import duty/tax is the responsibility of the buyer.

Materials used:

Oil, acrylic, paper
