Original artwork description:

A port I know well, having sailed from here more than a few times, on ferries to France and the Channel islands, or latterly on cruise ships
The Spinnaker Tower is comparatively recent, together with the Gunwharf Quays shopping centre
To the right is the historic heart of Old Portsmouth, recalling the time of Nelson and Collingwood. In the distant background we can just see one of the historic warships in the dockyard, HMS Warrior which headed the Home Fleet mid c19, and patrolled the English Channel

Materials used:

Cold pressed watercolour paper
