A portrait done from a photograph scrunched up by my good lady (I don't think maliciously) and then ironed out (so presumably not malicious!) of the lovely actress Meg Ryan. I was prompted to paint this after she was grossly misunderstood and insulted by a totally uncomprehending Parkinson on his TV chat show.
The crazed and creased photograph seemed poignantly apposite if you consider the wary vulnerability of a celebrity whose profession thrusts her into the limelight even when she isn't (if you see what I mean).
Spectrum oil paint, knives, sticks, paste medium.
