This is no ordinary bookshelf, as you may have initially thought. It is, in fact, a portrait - a reflection, a metaphor for one's life.

It took me two years to create this masterpiece, so that anyone who sees it would understand that this bookshelf belongs to a solitary old man. It was collected over many years, in a haphazard, chaotic manner, and ultimately, it was something that nobody really needed. But it is alive.

Ever since I was a child, I have loved home libraries. Whenever I enter a new home, the first thing I do is make my way to the bookshelf, assuming there is one. I assure you that spending half an hour in front of a bookshelf will reveal more about the owner than a day's worth of conversation.

Bookshelves are not just filled with books. They are filled with everything that surrounds the owner. They reflect the owner's inner world, even if they are not consciously trying to do so. It just happens naturally.

So I thought, why not suggest that you create your own portrait through your bookshelf? It could be quite entertaining. You don't need to limit yourself to what is currently on your bookshelf. You can imagine everything that could be there. Every book, every trinket.
