My artwork derives inspiration from the vivid and often surreal experiences of rapid eye movement (REM) intrusions, which are characteristic of narcolepsy. These involuntary and hallucinatory events are a rich source of creative material for me, and I endeavor to capture their dreamlike quality in my paintings._x000D_ _x000D_ As I delve into these experiences, I find myself drawn to the notion of images within images. The visuals that manifest during these episodes often have a layered or nested quality, with one image emerging from another or appearing to be contained within it. I strive to convey this effect in my art, using various techniques to create a sense of depth and complexity._x000D_ _x000D_ Through my paintings, I seek to explore the boundary between waking reality and the surreal realm of dreams. By channeling the unique perspective of a narcoleptic individual, I hope to offer viewers a glimpse into a world that is at once familiar and strange, unsettling and beautiful._x000D_ . I’m a London-based artist, and my work often reflects vivid and surreal imagery inspired by my unique experience with REM intrusion—a condition where dream-like visions can appear while I’m awake. My paintings explore the boundary between waking reality and the dream world, using layered compositions to create a sense of depth and movement. I paint with high-quality materials and put a lot of thought into texture and detail. My process is a mix of intuitive brushwork and deliberate layering, aiming to create pieces that are rich in emotion and invite you to see something new each time you look at them.
