An illustration from a series completed as part of a local project. Portland is well known for its stone (St. Paul’s Cathedral) and I wanted a certain subtlety in the colours whilst still being able to draw into the work. I used #Liquitex acrylic inks having first sealed the watercolour paper with white gesso. This allowed more working time, mixing and layering of colours. I experimented with paint and other materials but found that the @Liquitex acrylic inks had the right strength and colour I want to replicate the striations in the rocks. Others in this series on @Artfinder are The Portland Bill Lighthouse and the View from Top Hill with the Olympic Rings. ALSO AVAILABLE AS LIMITED EDITION PRINTS : £120. OR A4 unlimited : £50.00
