High Quality Photographic HD print, fully mounted and ready to pop into a frame.

Located on the south coast of Cornwall, Porthleven is a popular destination for landscape photography during stormy seas. On this day I was easily one of 150 photographers looking to capture the waves crashing into the harbour wall and church.

However, not satisfied with capturing the same image as everyone else, I took myself away from the crowds and sought a unique location higher up in the town, looking out to the horizon. From this angle the church and harbour wall were still the prominent features of the shot, but I could also capture the turbulent waters rolling into the coastline.

Given the rough weather there was a lot of cloud in the sky requiring patience for the right conditions to present themselves. As the storm began to subside the sun broke through the cloud cover creating a silvery light across the surface of the water. The final shot beautifully captures the power and chaos of the water in direct contrast with the smooth clean edges of the man-made architecture.

This dramatic image is bursting with changes in texture that are accentuated in print using Resin Coated Photo Metallic Gloss paper. The metallic pigments in the paper along with its high gloss finish complement the silver light and depth of the waves.

Watermark will not appear on image.

Materials used:

Innova Metallic Gloss Photopaper, Nikon D800, White Mount Board, Epson SC P800
