Original artwork description:
Portavardie is a direct response to sailing in the Western Isles of Scotland in the summer of 2012. I made the work on the yacht which is why it is small as I was limited by space and materials. This small painting is on a deep block of wood, solid, which is how Portavardie Marina felt, a safe and solid harbour for the night while a force 8 raged outside. It was a warm, colourful, peaceful and light place to stop.
