Words and memories of seeing a poppy field in North Cornwall.
I have painted many different types of poppy scenes in watercolour over the years. I used watercolour inks for this original expressive painting.
I wet the rough textured watercolour paper Saunders Waterford 300 gsm 140lb.
Then applied the watercolour ink using a dropping technique over the wet on wet background washes. I enjoyed this process of seeing how the colours explode on the paper.
