The painting fantastically depicts poppy flowers and their unopened buds. A dark background consisting of shades of soot gas, indigo, and emerald allows the petals of the beautiful flowers to burst into even brighter colors. And the fluffy buds are about to burst and scarlet flowers will appear to the world! The poppies in the picture are very symbolic: they attract true and pure love in a person's life. In the center of the composition, on the lower pedal, you can see the stanza and the seven opening notes of Chopin's Impromptu Fantasia. That's what this lush flower sounds like to me.

The painting is covered with fir lacquer, the ends are painted.
