Original artwork description:

'To paint is not to copy the object slavishly, it is to grasp a harmony among many relationships.' (Paul Cezanne)
Some of the poppy fields are truly vast at the moment, but it is a bit of a challenge to get out and paint them before the farmers mow them as they harvest their early crops. It's not unusual to mark a spot and then go back a day or two later only to find there are no poppies left!
Anyway, the sky was hot and changeable on the day, and gave a slightly different vista and harmony than the normal hot cobalt blue sky normally around when the poppies are out!
