Original artwork description:

I've painted loads of retro sweets and candy in the past but it's rare that I include a human element in my work. But based on the fact that bubble gum only really looks cool when it's being blown up into a big bubble, I decided to depict a person doing just that in this canvas painting.

The person goes around the edge of the canvas as shown in the side photos. Elsewhere the lush bubble gum is depicted in irresistible bright pink against my trademark sky blue background, to create a striking and completely POP image that would brighten up any room in the house, or be an ideal gift for someone with a sweet tooth. This is a larger version of a previous sold-out painting of mine.

It is painted in acrylics and Posca paint pens on a stretched cotton canvas. It's signed and dated on the back frame, as depicted.

I've been inspired to create work like this by classic pop artists like Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein and Patrick Caulfield, and by modern day graphic designers and food packaging.
