This pop art portrait of a girl with her golden hair blowing in the wind is made on brown craft paper.
Usually my artwork have deep evocative meanings,
offering a mirror of feelings to the person that watches it.
Yet this painting (and her sister as well) was born out of my need to make something beautiful that included gold leaf.
This is a super thin layer of combined metals that can be fixed to a surface and will add an incredible shininess to it that totally outstands the rest of the colors.
Many religious images have been made with it,
for it almost feels like something out of this planet.
I had wanted to use this material for a long time already,
yet as it was going to be my first time, I never dared to take the step on a painting that was already very good on it's realisation.
So I had to create something on purpose.
Something that would allow me to test the material, and on the same time,
would make me feel in awe because of it's beauty.
(I still try to impress myself with every artwork... does this sound weird¿?)
Both Goldilocks 1 and 2 are made on paper of 21 x 28 cm, that's 8,2 x 11 inces,
with a space around the image so it's easy to mat ( = get a passapartout around) it.
Which makes it easy to get a fitting frame around it.
They are signed with that little symbol that represents my first letters and on the back you will find the full signature, year of making and the title.
I will send it in an unbendable envelope so that it will arrive to you in perfect state.
I truly appreciate any form you support my art,
and if you have any further questions, I am happy to assist.
ink, pastel, acrylic paint, gold leaf
