I was struck by this dog and how it was looking back at me as I photographed the surrounding street scene, almost asking me to take it's photograph, so I obliged.
I liked the originality of the composition, how it half cuts out the humans to a large extent and simply focuses on the dog and the road and pavement.
I love light falling on pavement although rarely seen in paintings. There is a brilliance to light absorbed in concrete and tarmac that is different to bouncing off brick walls and so on. I hope I caught some of this brilliance here.
This street is a main thoroughfare/boulevard near The City Gates and the famous Wind Street in Swansea, Wales. We are all waiting at the traffic lights, getting ready to cross the six lanes to Wind Street opposite.
