This piece is part of a series on Ponds and the enchantment of life's beginnings. It feels a little surreal in nature given the pinkish hues on the plant life.

In my series of paintings on ponds, lakes, lagoons, and other bodies of water, I explore the essence of life's origins and our profound interconnectedness with the earth. Each canvas portrays not just a body of water, but a universe brimming with life, stories, and reflections of our shared existence.

At the heart of my work is the rich, life-giving substrate that lies at the bottom of these water bodies. This fertile combination of soil, sediment, and organic matter is like a womb, nurturing the beginnings of life. It supports the tiniest organisms, which in turn sustain larger forms of life, creating a delicate and intricate web of existence. Through my brushstrokes, I aim to bring this unseen, yet vital, world to the forefront, celebrating the foundation of life that sustains us all.
