Original artwork description:

When I set up a still life I like to include objects which have some personal and emotional meaning to me. In this painting the jug and the poetry book are precious items which belonged to my mother. They have become heirlooms, worth little in monetary terms but which have the much greater value of connection.

The high quality oil paint has been applied with both brush and palette knife giving a slightly textured 'painterly' finish, on linen canvas board which is ready for framing.
