I painted this piece using oil and a palette knife, and it’s the palette knife that gives the surface this bold, textured feel—alive, a little daring. Do you see how the light catches on those thick strokes? That’s no accident—I wanted to capture the play of light and shadow, as if the pomegranate is illuminating something more than just the table it rests on.

The background is deep, dark, almost dramatic, making the red truly pulse against it. There’s something both passionate and serene in that contrast. I wanted the viewer to feel the tension of the moment—the pomegranate seems to be waiting, on the verge of revealing its hidden treasures.

And I love how the texture makes the painting almost tangible—you feel like you could reach out and touch it. It’s as if the painting isn’t just an image, but a little universe of its own—vivid, real, and full of life.
