Original artwork description:

Variety of beautiful hues of blue in the water in one of numerous coves in Point Lobos Nature Reserve near Carmel-by-the-Sea was the inspiration for this gouache painting.

Materials used to create this artwork:
This is a 6"x8" gouache painting on 140 lbs 100% cotton cold pressed watercolor paper mounted to a 1/8" Sintra Panel with acid-free adhesive.
Gouache is very closely related to watercolor. It uses the same gum Arabic binder, but has more pigment which is not ground as finely as watercolor. Professional gouache colors are so opaque and vibrant, because they have the highest pigment load of any other painting medium.

The painting is unframed and will require a frame to hang on the wall.
No glass needed when framing, as the painting is protected with coats of archival varnish. Images of framed artwork in home interiors are for presentation of potential framing ideas only. Frame is not included.

Kindly note that not all in-context (in a room) pictures provide a true sense of scale of artwork. Please refer to listing size 6"x8", unframed.

Materials used:

gouache, cold press paper, archival varnish, Sintra panel
