Original artwork description:

Point Lobos State Natural Reserve, about four miles south of Carmel on the Pacific Coast Highway, is my favorite place to set up my easel and paint on location. In this piece, I focused on capturing the feel of the place and the fleeting light. I was attracted to the colorful rocks reflections and the shadows in the archway.

Materials:
Oil on Oil Primed rough grain natural linen canvas. Linen is not pumiced, for a unique, nubby, non-uniform finish. Solid pine stretcher bars 3/4"D x 2.17"W. Canvas is first stretched and back-stapled, then primed for a drum-tight surface. Oil primed surface is specifically designed to provide beautiful results with oil paints. Painting surface is protected with a coat of Gamvar varnish.

The painting is unframed, wired in the back on stretcher bars, and ready to hang.
