I have always had a deadline. From the time I was a young child until right now, I have been driven by something that is ill-defined; yet always applies a pressure to keep producing, keep moving, keep ahead of the next thing. It is exhausting sometimes, but it is a drive that keeps me painting, no matter the conditions.
I don't think much about legacy...what will happen after I am gone. I work hard at staying in the moment, and not ponder the what ifs, and will my work have been worth all the time and effort. However, we all want to realize the work we set out to do. Therefore, I have to believe there is plenty of time left for me to accomplish that. I'd be happy even if I stopped painting today, but it is so much fun to keep the vision moving.
