Playing the Fool is about those moments when one intentionally does not get the message of the others or the standard reading of a situation. This could be irritating for the others but - as an evasive move - it enables the "Fool" to preserve oneself and stay on their track, which sometimes could not be recognized by the society as "right".
On the other hand realizing ones own foolishness is quite normal and sometimes healthy. It reminds us that the world is beyond our capacity of knowledge and mitigates our self-confidence.
