Artwork description:

This artwork is comprised of an abstractly painted aluminum plate and aluminum foil with texture created using acrylic paint. The "Colony" series is a pigment inkjet printed onto the aluminum foil. This piece is inspired by the "tokonoma," a traditional alcove found in Japanese homes.

The artwork has been treated with a matte varnish.

The "Colony" series has received several awards:
* PX3 2023 (Prix de la Photographie, Paris) Silver Prize, "Colony," Professional-Nature/Flowers
* Minimalist Photography Awards Honorable Mention, "Colony," Fine Art

The frame uses Aluna's "LEAN" matte black and has won the 2019 Good Design Award. The surface is coated with a shot-blasted matte finish, giving the aluminum frame a tactile quality and a sense of luxury.
