As soon as I saw some triangle shaped canvases I knew I had to buy them and adapt my pop art food series to fit the new shape. After painting a watermelon segment I knew that the second triangle painting had to be a pizza slice. I've always loved painting pizza and it's one of my favourite foods. I always put pepperoni and green peppers on them.

I used the canvas to create a whole art object rather than simply a painting of it, so the shape of the canvas matches the shape of the subject in a bold way. That's why the design goes around the edge as pictured.

I love painting and illustrating food in a simple, bold and bright style that is heavily influenced by classic pop art and modern graphic design, and this canvas is no different. I'm less concerned with realism in my art, more with creating direct, memorable images that you'll want to hang in your home.

It is painted on hessian canvas that's ready to hang as the colours go around the edge. I've included a picture of me holding the canvas to give an idea of the relative size. The painting is signed and dated on the back as pictured.
