A celebration of spring in this painting of the beauty of nature. Reaching upwards and outwards in a graceful arc, delicate pointed pink tulips contrast against a fresh spring green background. The top of the painting is edged by a bright cerulean blue which hints at a summer sky.
The vase is a plain glass which allows us to see the beautiful stems of varying shades of green on a blue and white tabletop.
The pink tulips were bought on holiday in Switzerland at the beginning of March. I started the painting there from life and completed the detailed layers of colour back home in my studio in Scotland.
