As the viewer gazes at my work, I hope they can’t help but be transported into my world, sailing around the world with my family for seven years. An incredible journey: 7 years, 30,000 nautical miles / 55,000 kilometers, 28 countries. Storms, waves, transatlantic passages, the almost incomprehensible vastness of the Pacific, weeks with no land in sight, isolated islands...

This work is reminiscent of the arrival at Fatu Hiva in French Polynesia after nearly 3,000 nautical miles and 29 days at sea (Galapagos - Marquesas). After endless blue, it was magical to discover the deep green of the islands, and the pink and purple hues of the bougainvillea inspired this piece.

By the way, after a long time at sea, you can actually smell the land before it comes into view.
