Pink Mountain Painting -
Although part of the Mountain Series, Pink Mountain may also be seen as a continuation of the theme of the wanderer in the landscape from the artists' series. Here the viewer becomes the wanderer as the eye gazes out at the pink mountains ahead.
Pink Mountain was created through the 160-year-old traditional process of lithography using a pre-war printing press on archival paper. Natural linseed-based inks were hand-mixed by the artist. This work also shows Océane’s interest and influence from the Japanese Sumi-E tradition. The ethereal feeling of the mountains was created by hand-painting pigment onto the printing plate and allowing it to overflow.
