Pink Moon on a Magic Night (2021) Original Watercolour by Phyllis Mahon

Woman, asleep under a tree which is lit by the magical light of a pink crescent moon.
The energy flows from the moon to the tree in droplets, down the trunk to the roots.
The tendrils of her hair wrap around the trunk for the energy to flow upwards again.
it's a circular exchange.
Her colourful hair is veiled by moon drops; she could be a bride asleep, dreaming of her life ahead - this suggested by twin trees on the horizon; again all is under this magic moon.
As well as twin trees, I also use 'Pink Moon' a lot as a title - I adore Nick Drake's inspirational music.

I've used Inktense watercolours and gouache on Indian handmade paper.

*Indian cotton handmade paper is coloured with a natural pigment and has a pretty deckled edge which if desired can be made a feature of when it is time to frame.
